8 Promising & High Yielding Stocks Of The S&P 500

Dividend stocks also suffer from the same macroeconomic forces that are hurting stocks this year. From a stronger dollar to lower oil prices, there’s no shortage of issues to weigh on corporate earnings and revenue.

But there is not everything bad in this world. If you believe the American economy is strong enough and capitalism is working, you should bet on stocks.

Let me mention one thing, stock investing is no game and you should invest your money wisely in order to achieve a solid gain.

High yielding stocks don't provide always a good return. You must be very selective. By selecting stocks only from great indices like the Dow Jones or the S&P 500, you should avoid the big mistakes.

That doesn’t mean that every stock on the list of the S&P 500’s highest-yielding dividend stocks is a dog — just that due diligence is as important as ever. Some of these names have a great track record of dividend payments (and loads of cash flow to boot.) Some are much more risky.

Check out my attached top picks for the moment. I've selected only high yielding stocks with a dividend yield over 5 percent. Do you like some of them? Please let me know your thoughts about the selection. I like to discuss the opportunities and risks from the stocks.

Here are the 8 top picks...

10 Dividend Growers Institutional Investors Like

Goldman Sachs is projecting that nearly half of stock returns over the next decade will be from dividends. That's a huge number and based on historically data.

This is certainly good news for dividend investors. Unfortunately the stock market is trading at an elevated price-to-earnings ratio. As a result, total stock market returns are expected to average just 5% a year over the next decade.

If you are looking for more return, you must select the good stocks and eliminate the bad ones. By following the dividend growth rule, dividend growth stocks should perform better than the overall market.

Below are 10 that could fit the dividend growth rule. Which do you like?

10 Top Dividend Growers to consider are....

19 Top Yielding And Undervalued Stocks With A Predictable Business

Undervalued stocks with a predictable business originally published at long-term-investments.blogspot.com. Today I would highlight you some of the top results from the gurufocus undervalued predictable screener. It’s a nice tool in my view to get fresh new investment ideas for long-term orientated dividend growth and value seeking investors as well.

The screener plotted 77 results. You can find a list of the top yielding stocks below. Only nineteen stocks have a current yield over 2 percent; thirteen got a buy or better rating.

Baxter: A New Medical Stock For The Dividend Yield Passive Income Portfolio

My recent stock buy from last Friday was the medical instruments and supplies company Baxter International. The stock lost over 7 percent within the recent week due to analyst rating updates. There should be a higher degree of competition.

The expected P/E is now at 12.83 and the stock yields at 2.95 percent – A good value for the industry in my view.

I purchased 20 stocks for my Dividend Yield Passive Income Portfolio with resulted in total investment costs of $1,332. The new stake will contribute around $37 yearly to the full portfolio income.

--------------------------------------
For readers who are new to the matter and my dividend growth philosophy: I funded a virtual portfolio with 100k on October 04, 2012 with the aim to build a passive income stream that doubles each five to ten years. I plan to purchase each week one stock holding until the money is fully invested. The total number of constituents is expected at 50 – 70 companies and the dividend income should be at least at $3,000 per year.
--------------------------------------

Over the full year, the expected dividend income amounts to $2,483.12. With around $28,600 in deposited cash, it’s still possible to reach the $3,000 by the end of this year.

Baxter is a Dividend Challenger with 7 consecutive dividend hikes. You can see the dividend and earings development of Baxter in the following chart.

The full portfolio holdings are up 7.4 percent in average. Due to the high cash amount and slow buying process in a gaining market, the complete portfolio performance is only 6.43 percent, half of the return from the Dow Jones.
